Direct quotes should always be integrated into your essay. If you force the quote in, it will not make sense in relation to your argument.

Remember the rule of three: Introduce your source, integrate the quote, and reflect on its relevance to your argument.

Do not use excessive quotes to pad your essay's word count. It will only result in a lowering of your grade.

The more relevant the quote, the more you'll have to work with.
